9-11-2012 Our day in Dublin

Sept 11, 2012 Tuesday

We started our day in Dublin, after a full Irish breakfast, on the Hop-on-Hop-off bus. Our first stop was Dublin Castle which has been around since 18th century which now entertains dignitaries such as Bill Clinton and the Queen of England! Hopped back on to The Guinness Storehouse, home of Ireland's favorite brew which tastes like bad Motor oil! We went as far as the outside of Kilmainham Gaol(jail) the icon of Irish history. We decided to take a break from Irish history and Roberta decided this was as close as we were going to get to the Dublin Harley Davidson, since that wasn't on the bus route, Rose tried to sweet talk the cabbies outside into a discount with her body in the way of physical hugging. As you can imagine that did nothing to defray the 45 euro cab ride ! With goods in hand we head to Jameson Distillery where we sampled the goods by way of whiskey sours and Irish hot chocolate! Then someone had the brilliant idea(Cris) that we were going to St Michael's Church to see the crypts( not a LA street gang) of 400-800 year old mummies! Paula and Cris were creeped out but Rose and Roberta shook hands with the dead!! Now time for a short rest and out to do the Dublin Pub crawl or "fall" as Paula knows it!
