Today's post is written by Rosie O'Grady
Left Dublin and headed for Killarney with Roger our driver. Our first stop was Emo Garden House which had tea and fabulous desserts. We all shared Cris' lemon meringue pie and took a group picture minus Paula who was touring with the driver??
Then headed for Cork and Blarney Castle. As if we haven't had enough shopping Margaret and Lisa continued to shop till they dropped while most of us climbed the 1200 steps(at least it seemed like 1200) to the top of Blarney Castle to kiss the stone. No one told Roberta that you had to be hung by your feet to kiss the stone. She was somewhat hesitant but everyone cheered her on! We always thought kissing the stone brought good luck only to find out it would give you the gift of gab which god knows we don't need any more of that! Finally made it to Killarney and the International Hotel. Cris, Roberta, Rose, Karen, Paula and Carol all ate some delicious Irish fare at Mc Sweeneys Pub and Grill. Everyone headed to bed while Rose and Roberta had a great Irish Coffee at Hannigan
's then headed to the room to post this blog. Tomorrow we are headed for the coast and the Dingle Peninsula! Stay tuned and hope you like the pictures!
